Youth make up over 17% of all homeless in Surrey, the highest percentage in all of BC.

The Surrey Youth Assistance Fund is supported by a generous anonymous donor who believes that all young people between the ages of 16 and 24, deserve access to the necessary funds that will help them to reduce barriers to adult independence, such as the completion of high school, post secondary or career training programs, or who require support to attain or retain employment.

The Fund will also consider proposals from youth of any age where the proposal indicates how the SYAF support will help remove a barrier to adult independence. An example is funding for a sports program to provide a youth with positive social development opportunities.
