2025 Leading the Way Home Grantees
In 2025, we received so many proposals for projects that will make a positive difference in reducing homelessness and increasing housing security in Surrey, that we accessed reserve funding to expand our $250,000 annual grant fund to provide $462,500 in support of eight charities that together will create or preserve nearly 300 units of housing in our community.
Our 2025 Leading the Way Home grantees are:
- Atira Women’s Resource Society – $68,500 grant will enable the first steps towards redevelopment of a property that will create 80 to 100 new units.
- Fraser Region Aboriginal Friendship Centre Association – $50,000 grant will support the addition of 82 new units of housing to their housing project in Surrey’s Clayton neighborhood.
- New Hope Community Services Society – $40,000 grant will fund renovations to improve the livability and functionality of suites in their housing development for families new to Canada.
- Options Community Services – $50,000 grant will enable predevelopment work for a new supportive housing project that will have 50-60 units.
- Storehouse Community Hub Society -$124,000 grant will help preserve the 40 beds of its winter shelter by funding required renovations to meet health and safety regulations.
